Welcome to our website. Are you a descendant of one of the families that arrived in Upper Canada (Ontario) in 1794 with William Berczy and settled in Markham Township or are you interested in the early history of the Township and its settlers?

The website is currently going through a makeover but our contact information is posted here. Please contact us if you are interested in knowing more about the Association and any of the families who were part of the original settlers of Markham Township who came with Berczy.

The objectives of the Corporation (formed in 1991) are:
to establish an Association of the descendants of the original Berczy settlers who settled in the Township of Markham
to foster the study, recording and commemoration of their history and culture and their contribution to the economic and social life of the Township of Markham

Classes of membership

  • Member: direct descendant of an original settler -- $10
  • Spousal Member: spouse of member -- $10
  • Associate Member: interested but not a direct descendant-- $10.
  • Life Member -- $100
  • Corporate Member -- $500.
